PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device having a simple configuration which has a pulse signal generation circuit capable of reducing the amount of information which must be transmitted in order to set a pulse width, with a simple configuration. SOLUTION: The display device includes a plurality of PWM gradation control pulse signal generation circuits and a control means. Each pulse generation circuit counts arrival of respective pulses of a pulse train to determine whether a designated pulse has arrived or not and inverts a signal level synchronously with arrival of this pulse. The control means generates an enable signal, to which permission or inhibition of pulse input is set in accordance with a desired pulse width, to each pulse signal generation circuit in each pulse cycle of the pulse train.
