PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaft construction method improving construction efficiency and shortening a construction period by easily opening a road in a short time regardless of the progress situation of construction work. SOLUTION: A guide casing 10 with a diameter larger than a required shaft diameter is swingingly pressed in or turningly pressed in using a press-in excavator 1 and pressed in to excavate down to a position not to expose the upper end of the guide casing 10 to the ground part. Embedded casings 11, 12 are then inserted in the guide casing 10 pressed in to excavate in a preceding process, while ensuring an installation space of lining plates at the upper part of the guide casing 10. A temporary casing 20 is connected to the upper part of the embedded casing 12 by joining bolts, and the press-in excavator 1 is used to press in the embedded casings 11, 12 to excavate. At the end of daily work, the joining bolts of the temporary casing 20 are removed to remove the temporary casing 20, and the press-in excavator 1 is removed to install the lining plates.
