BACKSKIN SERVICE METHOD AND DEVICE IN INTERNET PROTOCOL NETWORK

A method for providing a background skin service in an IP network and an apparatus thereof are provided to make it unnecessary to construct other special hardware at a terminal for data mixing by transmitting the background skin and video data separately, not mixing the video data and the background data into one video data when a video call is connected. A method for providing a background skin service in an IP network comprises the following several steps. The first video terminal transmits a call connection message to the second video terminal(S10). The second video terminal transmits a message of "180 ringing" to the first video terminal(S20) and then transmits a message of "200 OK" to the first video terminal(S30). The second video terminal receives a background skin from the first video terminal via a TCP(Transmission Control Protocol) and displays the received background skin on a screen(S40). The first video terminal transmits a "ACK" response message to the second video terminal(S50). Thereby, the first video terminal is connected to the second video terminal via an RTP(Real Time Protocol)(S60). If the video call connection is terminated, the first video terminal transmits a message of "BYE B" to the second video terminal(S70) and the second video terminal transmits a message of "200 OK" to the first video terminal(S80).
