PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side face opening/closing device of a crusher preventing scattering of crushed chips from the side face of a receiver, when crushing the crushing objects like thinning materials, branches of trees, standing trees or stumps. SOLUTION: A crushing drum 20 having a lot of blades 22 on its outer periphery and the receiver 25 circular in the side view surrounding part of the outer periphery of the crushing drum 20 are included, and a drive unit 16 rotating the crushing drum 20, and a moving device 17 moving the crushing drum 20 and receiver 25 to the approaching and separating direction from the direction orthogonal to a rotation axis of the crushing drum 20, are included, wherein the receiver 25 is provided with: a side plate 30 turning around an axis parallel to the rotation axis of the crushing drum 20 and opening/closing the side face of the receiver 25; and a closing energizing device 31 energizing to turn the side plate 30 in the closing direction.
