<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operating device for a game machine, producing the feeling of being at a live performance by providing a responding means operated by feedback from the game machine body on the operating device for the game machine including a plurality of operation buttons used in a video game machine. <P>SOLUTION: In this operating device for the game machine, the operation data of the operation using a plurality of operation buttons is delivered to the game machine body, and a game is made to progress by a bidirectional communication means suitably receiving data from the game machine body. The operating device for the game machine is provided with a respond means operated according to a specific response signal from the game machine body.
