<p>Provided are an apparatus and a method for molding an optical element, in which a mold is transferred to an accurate position by a simple structure and a simple process. In the molding apparatus, a heating section, a pressure molding section and a cooling section are provided on a transfer path, and a plurality of series of molds in a transfer direction are slid and transferred at the same time on the transfer path. The molding apparatus is also provided with a transfer arm for transferring the mold forward by pressing the rear side of each mold in the transfer direction. The transfer arm transfers the mold by a prescribed distance by pressing the rear plane of the mold with its front side part. The rear side part of the transfer arm is provided with a recessed section for aligning, and the positions of the subsequent molds are corrected by bringing backward the transfer arm after moving the mold the prescribed distance.</p> |
