SELECTIVE CARCINOSTATIC AGENT

A selective carcinostatic agent prepared by chemically bonding a monoclonal antibody for human cancer antigen yielded by hybridoma with a carcinostatic substance. As the carcinostatic substance, basic polypeptides of wheat such as SP1, SP2 and SPH, and carcinostatic antibiotics such as adriamycin and daunomycin are preferable. The chemical bond between the carcinostatic substance and the monoclonal antibody is formed by chemically reacting the amino, carboxyl or aldehydo group of the former with the free amino or carboxyl group of the latter. The agent of this invention shows a selective toxicity for cancer cells but scarcely affects normal cells. Accordingly, it provides an excellent carcinostatic effect in less dose than with conventional carcinostatic agents.
