Provided are a green phosphor composition for a plasma display panel to improve the afterglow characteristics of a plasma display panel, and a plasma display panel containing the composition. The green phosphor composition comprises 50-99 wt% of a first phosphor represented by Zn_(2(1-x)) M_2x SiO4:Mn; and 1-50 wt% of a second phosphor represented by CaSiO3:Eu, wherein M is at least one element selected from the group consisting of Ca, Mg, Sr and Ba; and x<=0.1. Preferably the second phosphor comprises further 0.01-10 mol% of at least one doping element selected from the group consisting of Mg, Sr and Ba.
