PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical component where a thin metallic plate is integrally attached to the outside of the effective optical diameter of an optical device. SOLUTION: The optical component 7 is equipped with a pair of molding dies 2 and 3 oppositely arranged via thermoplastic material 5 and the metallic plate 6 arranged around the thermoplastic material 5, and a pressuring shaft 10 pressing and molding the softened thermoplastic material 5 in such a state that the pair of molding dies 2 and 3 are moved close to each other. When molding the optical device 15 by pressing the thermoplastic material 5, the optical device 15 and the metallic plate 6 are brought into contact with each other and integrally joined. In such a case, when it is assumed that the thickness in an optical axis direction at the innermost periphery part of the metallic plate 6 is (a) and the thickness in the optical axis direction at the part coming into contact with the metallic plate 6 at the outer periphery part of the optical device 15 is (b), they have relation a≤b.
