PURPOSE:To output the deterioration state of piping in the form of a table by determining the same numerically, by oscillating ultrasonic waves from a probe while weter is injected from a bubbler to measure the distance between the inner wall and outer wall of a pipe and measuring the wall thickness of the pipe according to a characteristic formula. CONSTITUTION:Ultrasonic waves are oscillated from a probe while water is injected from a bubbler 416 and, when the distance up to the inner wall of a pipe is set to d1, the time of an oscillation echo up to the inner wall of the pipe to T1, the time between the inner and outer walls of the pipe to T2 acoustic velocity in water to V1 and the acoustic velocity in the pipe to V2, d1=T1XV2/2 is formed and the wall thickness d2 of the pipe can be calculated according to formula d2=T2XV2/2. The self-propelling part in the pipe is stopped at every difinite distance along the longitudinal direction of piping 17 and the bubbler 416 is rotated at every stop position along the circumference of the pipe and stopped at very definite angle to perform measurement. The distance data and angle data from an ultrasonic flaw detector 11 are inputted to a digital input port and formed into a table by a debagging printer 15.
