PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strobe system that wirelessly emits light. SOLUTION: The strobe system includes a transmission-side strobe device and a receiving-side strobe device. The transmission-side strobe device has a transmitting means that wirelessly transmits strobe control information by means of the signals of electric waves or sound waves and wirelessly transmits, by means of light, a light- emission start signal for causing a receiving-side illuminating means to emit light by using a capacitor storing energy with which a transmission-side illuminating means emits illuminating means. The receiving-side strobe device wirelessly receives the strobe control information by means of signals of electric waves or sound waves, also wirelessly receives the light-emission start signal by means of light, performs a light-emission preparing operation for the receiving-side illuminating means based on the reception of the strobe control information, and causes the receiving-side illuminating means to emit light based upon the reception of the light-emission start signal.
