The seal between two articles consists of two elements (1,2), one with a groove (8) in the end face of its wall. The groove has an undercut (5) and extends around the periphery of the element (1). The second element (2) has a rib, which extends around its periphery. This rib has a projection (6) on one face and a sloping step in the opposite face. The rib is pressed into the groove of the first element and elastically deforms the wall (4) of the groove to make a pressure-tight seal. USE/ADVANTAGE - For instrument plastics housing etc., with improved sealing effect over the entire sealing interface.
