PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the labor for repeating setting every time when a document is copied, by storing information about once set character/photograph decision. SOLUTION: The image processor comprises a registration processing section having a means for determining the region of image data, a means for determining the attributes of the region, a means for computing the amount of feature of the region and a means for storing the attributes and the amount of feature, and a recognition processing section having a means for computing similarity by using the amount of feature stored for the image data read in, and a means for overwriting the attributes corresponding to the amount of feature stored for a region of high similarity.
