摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semi-solid forming method and a apparatus therefor which dispense with providing a metallic mold with a special means for removing an oxide film and a solidified layer, and further can securely prevent the arising of a problem of deterioration in formability caused by the generation of lamp soot from a lubricant and a reduction in the temperature of a semi-solid metal. SOLUTION: The semi-solid metal M made into a semi-solid state by being induction-heated in a subsleeve 31 is charged into an injection sleeve 22 together with the subsleeve 31, the formation of the oxide film and the solidified layer in the circumferential face of the semi-solid metal M is suppressed by the subsleeve 31, and further, the generation of the lamp soot from the lubricant at the inside face of the injection sleeve 31 is suppressed. After the charge of the semi-solid metal into the injection sleeve 22, a slider 25 is made to advance linked with a plunger 24, and the subsleeve 31 is stopped at the advanced edge. Thereafter, while the material (the oxide layer and the solidified layer) at the surface layer part in the semi-solid metal M is made to flow into a gap between the taper part 24a at the tip side of the plunger 24 and the subsleeve 31 by the advance of the plunger 24, the semi-solid metal M is press-charged into the cavity 4 of the metallic mold 1.
