Optical coupler has a first wave guide (WG1) which is separated by means of multi mode interference performance fraction (1) in two wave guide part (WG1.1,WG1.2) with equal performance fraction. The both wave guide part are arranged at a certain distance with a defined distance (f) parallel to each other. The second wave guide (WG2) is arranged at a distance (LK) with a distance (g), parallel and symmetrical to both wave guide part. The symmetrical over coupling of the two wave guide part takes place on the second wave guide whereby the level of the coupling is adjustable by the length of the distance.
