PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a card system and a card management method, capable of executing an arbitrary setting on the content and period of processes to be executed after expiration of an effective period, by only one management device. SOLUTION: In the card system 200, an inter-stand processing device 20 transmits card data read from a game card to a terminal controller 100 in processing the inserted game card, and a CPU 120 in the terminal controller 100 discriminates the state of the card based on the card data transmitted from the inter-stand card processing device 20, and controls the processing mode by the card based on the result of discrimination.
