Process and device for automatic regeneration of a double battery (G, D) for the demineralisation of water using ion exchange resins. This process consists in employing a fraction of the water treated by one of the batteries (G) for diluting and entraining the acidic and basic regenerants, respectively, from the tanks (H) and (OH) on the exchangers (A2, C2) of the other battery (D). The flow rates of the water pipelines (2 and 2'), on the one hand, and (3) and (4), on the other hand, are regulated to make the end of a production cycle of one battery (G) and the end of rinsing-regeneration of the other battery (D) coincide. At this stage, merely by reversing the 5-way manual valves (V1 - V2 - V3 and V4), one battery (D) recommences production and the other battery (G) enters regeneration. The invention is applicable to the demineralisation of water and to any treatment of an aqueous or nonaqueous solution using ion exchangers. <IMAGE> |
