PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a trailing/arm type suspension structure and an axle carrier capable of reducing their weight and realizing their high performance. SOLUTION: In a trailing/arm type suspension for a vehicle, the axle carrier 301 which is attached to side ends of wheels 303 of a trailing/arm 302 and to which an axle/bearing is attached has first flat plate-like members arranged substantially in parallel in the forward and backward directions of the vehicle and constituted to attach the axle/bearing and second flat plate-like members constituted to connect with side ends in front of the vehicle of the first flat plate-like members at substantially right angle and connect with the side ends of the wheels of the trailing/arm at angle of 60°to 90°.
