PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a germination treatment method that can arbitrarily control the dormant period of the seed of water plant and can rapidly germinate the seed according to need, and the storage vessel for receiving the seed that has become efficiently germinative, and a method for planting the seed of water plant. SOLUTION: In this method for storage and germination treatment of seeds of water plant, the seeds of water plant are collected, treated, for example, at 4°C, the first temperature, for example, at least more than one month in water to maintain the dormant condition, then the treated seeds are kept at 20°C, the second temperature condition, thereby the seeds are made germinative. In the method for planting seeds of water plant, the seeds made germinative are scattered in a storage vessel in which water is stored, then the storage vessel is set in the transplanting area together with the rough woven fabric constituting the storage vessel.
