The appts. includes two location detecting units, disposed in a prescribed direction with directivity to receive IR signals from a remote control transmitter. Both of the two location detecting units receive the IR signals from the remote control transmitter, regardless of a location of the remote control transmitter. Two amplifying circuits(10,11) are provided for amplifying the IR signals received at the two location detecting units. Two switch circuits(12,13) is used for outputting amplified signals for the two amplifying circuits during a prescribed time according to gate signals. An adder(14) is used for adding signals output from the two switch circuits. A main amplifier(15) is used for amplifying an added signal from the adder. A rectifying circuit(16) is included for rectifying an amplified signal received from the main amplifier.
