The invention relates to a method for coloring flowers. Here, an end of a stem of a branch provided with one or more flowers is placed in a holder partly filled with a coloring product and, after some time, when the one or more flowers have taken up sufficient coloring product, the branch is taken from the holder. Before or during placing in the holder, the end of the stem can be cleaved in a longitudinal direction, so that substems are formed. The different substems are then placed in holders which are filled with different coloring products, so that a flower can obtain different colors and flowers of one branch can obtain different colors.
