<p>Instantaneous pptn. of supersaturated potassium bi-tartrate in wine by a continuous process is effected by refrigerating the wine until it is converted to ice, without losing its fluidity, followed by melting the ice crystals with consequent formation of seed crystals of potassium bi-tartrate. Freezing is carried out in a cylindrical cooler equipped with a rotating shaft with scrapers which detach the ice from the walls.</p> |
