<p>The engine, comprising a cylinder block (4) topped by a cylinder head (8) with combustion chambers (10) and inlet (14) and exhaust (18) valves, has fresh air jets (24) in the exhaust valve seats (22) to mix fresh air with the exhaust gases for enhanced post-combustion. The fresh air is delivered to the jets under pressure by a pump (32) and a system of channels (28, 30).</p> |
