PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a remedy for intractable pain hard to treat by known action mechanisms, and to provide a safe and an effective analgesic composition that functions by a novel action mechanism and causes no troubles of adverse reactions such as drug resistance or drug dependence observed in the case of narcotic analgesics or gastroenteric disorder observed in the case of antipyretic analgesics. SOLUTION: The analgesic composition comprises as an effective ingredient a component that inhibits, suppresses or lowers the production of hydrogen sulfide in a living organism. The analgesic composition comprises as an effective ingredient particularly a cystathionineγ-lyase (CSE) inhibitor such as DL-propargylglycine (PAG) andβ-cyanoalanine (BCA).
