PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bridge apparatus for power line communication (PLC) capable of multiplying the speed of relay processing and to provide a relaying method.

SOLUTION: The bridge apparatus for the PLC includes: a plurality of PLC transmission reception sections 14 that separate PLC communication signals from power lines to extract PLC headers and superimpose the PLC communication signals on the power lines; a transfer destination information storage section 121 for storing a cross-reference between identifiers of the PLC transmission reception sections 14 and PLC MAC addresses of communication terminals connected to the PLC transmission reception sections; and a bridge processing section comprising a processing section 11 and a PLC transmission reception section selection section 13 that discriminate the identification corresponding to the destination MAC address obtained in the PLC header of the received PLC communication signal by referring to the cross-reference when receiving the LC communication signal and transfer the received PLC communication signal to the PLC transmission reception section 14 related to the discriminated identifier.
