A centrifugal separator has fluid flowing axially and diverted in a diversion chamber (1) so that a gas flow is guided into an accelerating grille extending round the entire circumference. The grille comprises aerodynamically optimized prisms, as used in turbines. The gas leaves tangentially and is accelerated in a cylindrical channel (4) so that the liquid falls out in droplets.
