<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a completely lead-free and highly reliable piezoelectric vibrator or surface-mounted piezoelectric vibrator for which it is not necessary to use lead for internal components and also for plating, and method of manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: An air-tight terminal 10 is formed from a stem 11, a lead 12 subjected to lead-free plating, and a filling 13. An inner lead 12a of the air-tight terminal 10 is connected to a piezoelectric vibrating chip 20 and further, a case 30 is press-fitted into the stem 11, thereby constituting a piezoelectric vibrator 1. On an end face of another side of the stem 11 filled with the filling 13 and in a predetermined area of the outer lead 12b close to said other side end face, an insulating coating 60 is formed by depositing oxidized aluminum by plasma metal spray. Even if the lead-free plating 15 is molten by heat at the time of reflow or heat at the time of resin injection molding, because of the insulating coating 60, floating of the molten plating material is suppressed, thereby preventing short-circuiting between two outer leads 12b. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
