摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To endow a gas diffusion layer for a fuel cell electrode with performance equivalent to or better than that in case of using a VGCF, with the use of a low-cost material and at low cost. <P>SOLUTION: Carbon black is added to aqueous solution containing a surfactant while stirring, to which aqueous phenol resin dispersion is added to make carbon black ink (S10), aluminum borate whisker is crashed, (S11), and fitted into a fluid chamber of a spray dryer with a fluid layer, on which the carbon black ink is sprayed and then put under heating treatment to heat-cure the phenol resin to make up carbon-coated whisker (S12, S13), which is then dispersed in aqueous solution containing the surfactant, and mixed with PTFE dispersion to make up paste for coating of a diffusion layer (S14). The paste for the diffusion layer is coated with a doctor blade on a carbon material for gas diffusion dipped and evaporated (S15), and is then put under heat treatment to make up the gas diffusion layer 1 for the fuel cell electrode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
