PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a recording paper falling preventing mechanism which can surely prevent a recording paper after cutting from falling out of a recording paper discharging opening without being brought into a paper jamming state. SOLUTION: The recording paper falling preventing mechanism 30 is set in a rolled sheet printer 1, which holds to prevent the recording paper 7b after cutting from falling out of the recording paper discharging opening 2. The recording paper falling preventing mechanism 30 is equipped with a blocking lever 31 which can be engaged with a side face 24a when a movable blade 24 moves in the cutting direction. A rear end part of the recording paper 7b to be cut is held between the movable blade 24 moving in the cutting direction and the blocking lever 31 energized by a tensile coil spring 32, so that falling is prevented. Different from the case where a leading end part of the recording paper to be cut is passed by pushing up the retaining lever to form its holding state, paper jamming at the holding part is avoided.
