PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for announcing recommended broadcast programs among broadcast programs to a user in a proper timing without the need for troublesome operations. SOLUTION: The apparatus for announcing recommended broadcast programs receives EPG data being program data and stores the EPG data to an EPG data storage section 105. A timing judgement section 107 discriminates a timing for announcing the recommended programs on the basis of an input operation applied from an operation entry section 101 to a television receiver or the like and the stored EPG data. Further, a recommended program determining section 106 refers to the stored EPG data and an operation entry history to determine the recommended program, and a recommended program announcing judgement section 108 displays the recommended programs in the timing on a recommended program display section 109 for the announcement to the user.
