PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an energy-saving and compact garbage disposer. SOLUTION: This disposer is provided with a drying fan 36 supplying air to a microorganism decomposing part 21, a heating means 38 heating air, and a control part 42 controlling an agitating means 23 agitating garbage 27. The control part 42 is composed to control the operation of the heating means 38 based on the humidity of air taken into the microorganism decomposing part 21. When the humidity of air is higher than that set in advance, the heating means 38 is operated to perform drying, while when the humidity is low, the heating means 38 is not operated, and energy-saving drying is performed by mainly using air from the drying fan 36.
