PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a constant velocity universal joint which improves breakage strength, reduces abrasion, improves durability, and contains a cage for the constant velocity universal joint and a cage improving the breakage strength or the like. SOLUTION: The cage for the constant velocity universal joint holds a ball 4 arranged in a ball track formed in cooperation with a track groove 7 of an outside joint member and a track groove 9 of an inside joint member. A pocket 11 for holding the ball 4 is formed in the cage for the constant velocity universal joint. The outer periphery of a pocket column part 15 formed at least between the outer spherical surface 12 and pocket is subjected to finish work by shot peening after grinding work.
