PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operating method for a dust collector capable of operating the dust collector in an energy-saved manner by an inexpensive and simple control system. SOLUTION: This dust collector comprises a load meter 3 for measuring a hydraulic load on a bar screen 1. When the measurement value of the load meter 3 is equal to or larger than a predetermined value, the dust collector is operated at a speed higher than that during the normal operation.
