The exhauster has an inductive type efficiency sensor (20) to detect a passage of blades (16) of a turbine (15) driven in rotation by a motor (17). The sensor transmits a signal indicating stop of rotation of the turbine to a control module of a ventilation installation, when it does not detect the passage of the blades. The module controls the stop of motor, when it receives the signal indicating the stop of the rotation of the turbine, so that the exhauster operates in a static mode. The sensor is isolated from the blades in order to operate without contact with the blades. An independent claim is also included for a building ventilation installation comprising a number of gas exhaust ducts and air exhausters.
