PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scanner capable of being a virtual USB host directly controlling a printer to perform printing without passing an external host. SOLUTION: The scanner can be the USB host including a hub, a scanner configuration portion, a virtual printer configuration portion and an internal host. The hub is connected to a computer host and the scanner. The scanner configuration portion stores basic setting data of the scanner, the virtual printer configuration portion stores basic setting data of the printer, and both the scanner configuration portion and the virtual printer configuration portion are connected to the hub. The internal host is connected to the scanner configuration portion, the virtual printer configuration portion and the printer.
