The invention relates to a hand or foot bath (1) with a trough (2) to house an electrically-conducting bath water (3), with electrodes (5, 6), assembled to give a module (4) which at least partly extend into the bath water (3) of the trough (2) to form a electrolytic cell and provided with a controller (7) which supplies the electrodes (5, 6) with electricity according to a set programme. According to the invention, advantageous operational conditions can be achieved, whereby the material of the electrode (6) acting as anode at least partly comprises graphite and/or titanium and/or platinum.
