PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid softener composition imparting excellent flexibility to various kinds of synthetic fibers, and capable of effectively preventing discoloration of clothes at rinsing. SOLUTION: The liquid softener composition contains (A) a mixture of a tri-long chain alkyl (or alkenyl) quaternary ammonium salt, a di-long chain alkyl (or alkenyl) quaternary ammonium salt and a mono-long chain alkyl (or alkenyl) quaternary ammonium salt in a specific proportion, and (C) a short-chain tertiary amine having 1-3 active hydrogen capable of forming an ester or amide bond with fatty acid or fatty acid alkyl ester, a neutralized product thereof and/or a quaternized product thereof.
