A method and apparatus (10) for securing a plurality of modules (62) to a frame (58) to form a box spring (56) include a base (12) for supporting the frame (58) and the modules (62), a support (18), and a drive mechanism (24, 26, 28) coupled to the support (18) and the base (12). The drive mechanism (24, 26, 28) is configured to provide relativ e movement between the support (18) and the base (12). The apparatus (10) also includes a camera (116, 118) coupled to the support (18) . The camera (116, 118) provides an image signal indicative of an actual position of the modules (62) relative to the frame (58) upon relative movement of the support (18) and the base (12). The apparatus (10) further includes a tool (90) coupled to the support (18) for securing each of the modules (62) to the frame (58) using the image signal from the camera (116, 118).
