The cover (10), designed to fit over an area of ground equivalent to that of the grave, is made from a lightweight material such as a moulded plastic and/or synthetic fibers with resin or natural fibers and adhesive. It is made in at least two sections that are joined together by fixings or hinges for easier transportation and for separation and disposal after use. At least one of the components can be a container (30) for ornamental plants; others (46a, 46b, 46c) can be in the form of personal or religious symbols.
