An endotracheal intubation apparatus includes a tube (121) having a distal end (119), a proximal end (113), and an extensible and contractible portion (123). The apparatus further includes at least one cuff (118) on the tube proximate to the distal end. The cuff is movably attached to the tube that the cuff is capable of at least some movement in a proximal direction and in a distal direction on the tube. A tube holder (104) includes a resistant support configured to substantially bias the proximal end of the tube toward a selected oral position in a patient. The apparatus also includes at least one tube locator that is adapted to indicate the position of a distal portion of the tube within the patient. |
