PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing at low cost a ring-shaped brake shoe economically through simple procedures being free of gap generation in the central part of the top surface having a T-shape by lessening the materials to be disposed of as much as practicable. SOLUTION: The invention applies to the method for manufacturing the ring-shaped brake shoe formed so that a block-form metal having such dimensions as able to produce a single brake shoe is subjected to drawing into a T-shape having a flat portion and a protruding portion perpendicular thereto, to yield a ring-shaped metal processed article in which the mentioned protruding part should lie inside, and a friction member is secured fast to or molded in a single piece with the flat portion of the outside surface of the ring-shaped metal processed article, and also a brake shoe manufacturing method whereby a friction member is secured fast to or molded in a single piece with the flat portion of the outside surface of the ring-shaped metal processed article fabricated using a block-form metal having dimensions to allow establishment of a plurality of brake shoes.
