PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a groove-cutting machine cutting a groove in a soil face of a paddy field by lowering a groove-cutting body by a linking structure, and driving a riding rice transplanter to enable the groove-cutting body to travel in the paddy field by being pulled, carrying out the escaping operation of the groove-cutting body from a groove-cutting position to an upper escaping position by an escaping structure after the groove-cutting operation for conveying the groove-cutting body from the paddy field to a farm road or a levee by the riding rice transplanter, to prevent the groove-cutting body from colliding with a slope face or the like even if the riding rice transplanter is tilted by the difference in level between the paddy field and the farm road or the levee by the escaping action from the groove-cutting position to the upper escaping position by the escaping structure. SOLUTION: The groove-cutting machine is obtained by connecting a holding frame body 3 to a rear position of the riding rice transplanter 1 with a connecting structure 2 so as to be freely movable in the upper and lower direction, installing the groove-cutting body 4 capable of cutting the groove in the soil face M of the paddy field in the holding frame body, and further installing the escaping structure 5 for moving the groove-cutting body from the groove-cutting operation position to the upper escaping position so as to escape.
