<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording material excellent in printing characteristics due to red seal-ink and stamp ink and scratch resistance. <P>SOLUTION: The recording material is constituted by laminating a surface layer 3, which contains a modified urethane resin and an inorganic pigment, on the matte surface of a base material 1 of which one side is at least made matte so that the adhesion amount thereof is 10-400 g/m<SP>2</SP>. The base material 1 may comprise a material obtained by providing a matte layer 2 on the surface of a support 11 or a material obtained by directly matting the surface of the support 11 by a sand blasting method or a chemical etching method.
