PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption of a battery of a capsule endoscope. SOLUTION: A detaining apparatus 5 for holding the capsule endoscope 3 comprises an optical sensor 73, a control substrate 66 constituting a controller and a reset circuit, a driver substrate 68 constituting an electromagnetic driver, and a control device 57 having an electromagnet 70. When the optical sensor 73 detects light, the controller drives to control the electromagnet 70 at a predetermined time interval so as to turn on a lead switch 14 enabling power supply in the capsule endoscope 3.
