PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a louver device for actualizing quick emergency opening of an opening which communicates the inside with the outside of a building in emergency. SOLUTION: The louver device 1 comprises a plurality of vanes 5 arranged side by side in a vertical direction Z for opening/closing the opening 4 which communicates the inside 2 with the outside 3 of the building with the rotation in R1 and R2 directions, a movable member 6 connecting the plurality of vanes 5 to one another for rotating the plurality of vanes 5 in the R1 and R2 directions with the movement in A and B directions, a moving force and braking force imparting means 7 for imparting moving force and braking force to the movable member 6 in the A and B directions, and a transmitting and moving means 8 for transmitting the moving force and the braking force of the moving force and braking force imparting means 7 to the movable member 6 in a cancelable manner while moving the movable member 6 in the A direction so that the plurality of vanes 5 are rotated in the R1 direction in accordance with the cancellation of the transmission.
