PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive automatic stopping mechanism of a windshield wiper motor capable of dynamically improving material yield of a contact plate, and realizing the entire miniaturization. SOLUTION: Respective contact plates 21, 22, 23 for a power source, a ground, and a contactor always contact are mounted in a ceiling part 14a of a gear case cover 14, and an automatic stopping mechanism 20 is constituted by a contactor 16 and the respective contact plates. A movable contact point 16e of the contactor is made slidable on the contact plate 21 for a power source and the contact plate 23 for the ground, and an automatic stopping mechanism of a windshield wiper motor 10 is made stoppable between the contact plate for the power source and the contact plate for the ground. The respective plate-like contact plates 21, 22, 23 with a rectangular cross section are embedded in a ceiling part 14a of a gear case cover 14 under a vertical condition, and one-side end faces 21c, 22c, 23c of the respective contact plates are exposed to the inner face 14c of the ceiling of the gear case cover.
