<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gene and a protein relating to aberrant cell growth appearing in various benign tumors and malignant tumors. <P>SOLUTION: The invention provides a multi-tumor aberrant growth (MAG) gene and a multi-tumor growth factor having a nucleotide sequence of any one of the strands of members of a high mobility group protein gene or an LIM protein gene (including their modified versions).
