PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rule induction method applied to structured data. SOLUTION: The rule induction method includes a step (22) of selecting an overbroad candidate rule for categorizing a node to be categorized and a step of specializing the candidate rule. The candidate rule is specialized by; (i) adding a rule node corresponding to a node level of structured training examples by a means (44); (ii) making the added rule node include a rule pertaining to an attribute of at least one node of the corresponding node level to produce a specialized candidate rule by a mans (42); and (iii) evaluating the specialized candidate rule respectively to the structured training examples by a means (26).
