PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic material dispersion type resin carrier that is effective to prevent carrier deposition on a photoreceptor and capable of forming an image with high definition and high picture quality. SOLUTION: The magnetic material dispersion type resin carrier contains metal compound particles containing at least a magnetic material dispersed in a binder resin, and the carrier is characterized in that the 50% average volume-based particle size of the carrier is 25 to 60μm, particles that pass a sieve having a 20μm opening size are included by 2.0 mass% or less, an inner layer of the carrier particle comprises a resin polymerized by an ethylenically unsaturated monomer with dispersion of a magnetic material, and the surface layer of the carrier particle is treated with a nitrogen-containing compound.
