PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve image quality. SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes developing devices 13Bk, 16Y, 13M, and 13C for forming developer images each containing at least a colorant, a releasing agent, and a binder resin; a transfer member for transferring the developer images to a recoding medium; and a fixing unit 23 having a first rotational member for heating the developer images transferred to the recoding medium and a second rotational member for pressing the transferred developer images against the recording medium. The first rotational member is previously coated with a releasing agent on a surface thereof. Since the first rotational member is previously coated with the releasing agent, fixation can excellently be performed to improve the image quality. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
